Fish Creek, otherwise known as “The Mighty Fish” is a top Northeastern USA white-water run for experienced kayakers. Great runs can be had in early spring to early summer and often again in the fall with the Autumn rains. There are no planned releases on Fish Creek so check out what Mother Nature is dishing out before making your trip. The folks at Wellnesste Lodge (they have great cabins for kayaking enthusiasts) own a 1/2 mile of river frontage and have resources on their website for local kayakers.

Verona State Park

Located along the Eastern shore of New York State’s largest inland lake (Oneida Lake), Verona State Park and the surrounding coastline is an ideal place to launch and explore for flatwater adventure. Still water/ lake kayaking can be enjoyed in this portion of Central NY by kayakers of all ages. There are coves, feeder streams and rivers and open water for all to enjoy. Oneida Lake is also well known for its fishing so we recommend bringing a pole along for the ride!
